Using indicators to manage the company

A small retail company was in the habit of observing turnover and the margin on products sold.

DEVAS Consulting was assigned to develop performance indicators to monitor changes in other key indicators.

Here is a brief overview of the content:

  • Monthly turnover

  • Numbers of customers

  • Number of hours worked

  • Turnover / m2

  • Turnover / h

  • Manager’s comments

All elements of the performance indicators were systematically compared with the two previous years and with the budget. In addition, DEVAS Consulting was assigned to do regular customer-satisfaction analyses. Other indicators were analysed at regular meetings.
